Bear Portrait.

I
spent a couple of hours photographing this boar as he fed hungrily on
fallen walnuts at the forest edge here. The bear rarely looked up, hardly
glancing at me when he did so. After a while a tourist came over, and
walked brazenly within a few feet of the bear. He lunged at her, then
turned and disappeared into the forest. She could have been badly hurt,
but was simply upset at why the bear had frightened her. People need
to be aware that wild animals, even those habituated and tolerant of
people, are indeed "wild", and need to dealt with carefully,
