Eagle Leaving.

Bald eagle leving his perch, in flight

Niall Benvie, a wonderful photographer from Great Britain wrote in one of his books of a concept he called 'the Edge'. These edges are, in his words, "zones of transition in time or space or being. Capturing a moment, place or subject at a point where change occurs and contrasts arise.". Where possible, I try to do that, as the images that I get back appeal to me immensely. They tend to be more evocative, more powerful and hold the viewer's interest longer. Here, the moment after his feet left the perch, I snapped the shutter of my camera and made this photo. Homer, Kachemak Bay, Alaska.
