Bull Elk, Rutting Behaviour.

Rutting behaviour of a dominant bull elk - this flehmen is a behaviour common amongst all ungulates. It is primarily a behaviour seen most often among the males, (bulls or bucks), but occasionally females (cows or does) do it to. This bull was letting the world know he is the dominant bull in his area, and the lip curl he gave added a spark to this image. Bull elk, rutting behaviour, flehmen, Jasper NP, Canada. (Cervus Elaphus)
