Soft overcast light is common in the summer months of the Kenai Peninsula. After a light morning drizzle, this helps bring out the colors in an image. Here, the pink fireweed contrasts sharply with the rich greens of the grasses and the blurred water. I took this photograph while hiking the Resurrection Trail, in the Chugach National Forest, Kenai Peninsula, Alaska.
