"Peace comes within the souls of men, when they realize their oneness with the Universe, when they realize it is really everywhere... it is within each one of us." -- Black Elk, Lakota Medicine Man. Nature photography is a rewarding experience, and one that, for me, the process is more important than the product. I enjoy creating images of everything I run across, large wild mammals, birds, flowers, insects, etc, but nothing is as fascinating as the experience of trying to photograph landscapes in a way that captures some of the essence that makes these places so special. My photography is a vital part of my outdoor experience, and the constant learning process of making photographs takes me back to many of these wonderful locations time and again. Most of these images were photographed in Alaska, particularly Wrangell-St. Elias and Denali National Park, and the Kenai Peninsula, as well as Jasper National Park in Canada and the Southern Appalachians of North Carolina and the Cohutta Wilderness of the north Georgia mountains. As I continue to pursue my passion for nature photography, these galleries will grow. Please check back often as they're updated. Thank you. -- Carl Donohue. I'm constantly working towards furthering my stock lists, and improving my portfolio. Each photo is available for stock use, and photographic prints, screensavers, note cards or calendars are also available.
