Fireweed Over
Bremner.

After
an incredible hike up to this spot, while taking a rest to recover from
the ascent, I knew I'd have to take the camera out and shoot this scene.
The flow of the glacier in the background, the vibrant flowers of the
fireweed, and the grandeur of the scene were too much to pass up, regardless
of how tired I was! The Iceberg Lake route includes crossing this glacier,
and ascending up this ridge. It's steeper and further than it looks!
This image was composed southward, staring out over the Chugach mountain
range, across the Bremner Glacier, which splits into 2 lobes. We cross
over the Tana lobe and have 2 or 3 days of hiking to get to the pickup
point. Chugach Mountains, Wrangell-St. Elias National Park, Alaska.

I'm

my portfolio. These images are all of wild subjects, in their natural
environment. Each photo is available for stock use, and photographic
prints, screensavers, note cards or calendars are also available. To
