Nootka Lupine, various colors, British Columbia, Canada

As soon as I saw these lupines I knew I had to photograph them. I'd never seen such a variety of colors and tones before, and tried to compose them in a way that made a pleasing composition. Lupine are definitely one of my favorite wildflowers, and they're always a pleasure to photograph. The 2 species found in Alaska and parts of western Canada are Arctic Lupine (Lupinus arcticus) and Nootka Lupine (Lupinus nootkantensis). The magenta and pink lupines are the Nootka Lupine. This image was taken in British Columbia, Canada.
